Further news also from sluicebit.com

Sluicebit is now offering the possibility to book one of these units with 100$ dollars deposit (refundable). Hopefully units ready for March 2014

SluiceBit II - 2 Megahashes @ 100 Watts ($2500)
SluiceBit IV - 4 Megahashes @ 115 Watts ($4500)

FPGA based 34kh/J ?

I am aware of the concerns raised in the past (and present), but I simply reported what they stated on their website... Time will tell us whether these units will ever hash.
Tnx

Scrypt ASIC International saying (http://scryptasic.org/) :
"he total hash speed of the new Unit 1 will be 25,000 KH/s at the price of £800 equivalent in Bitcoins. We support Crypto-Currencies and so would like to take payment with them."

I think it's impossible to make unit for 25000KH/s with a 500W alimentation "OCZCoreXStream OCZ-CSX500W-UK ATX PSU" (Look a 2:04)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DGNjN0mKW8

I think There is a problem.  Look at the photo on twitter : https://twitter.com/ScryptAsic
it seems to be an OCZ alimentation OCZCoreXStream; 500W.

Alpha technology chips (http://alpha-t.net/) = 20W for 500Kh/s ... This is serious !! And so, 25000Kh/S => 1000W.  500W may not be enough for 25000Kh/S

Mistake???

I think this unit does not exist and will never be sold... it's not serious...

Update on ltcgear projects posted by beekeeper on his thread: https://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,6401.0.html

4U racks + 5 Scriptor 8X Light nicely hashing: http://vimeo.com/79146385

cgminer for Scriptor available here: http://ltcgear.com/monday/

So far all of those projects look not very promising or are scams...

today is supposed to be "shipping day" for LTCgear.com
Anyone know if that is actually happening?

They sold out before they started officially selling ???

Still would like to see that Scryptor 8x in action. They just showed to us Scryptor 8x Light so far  :(

From beekeeper thread, it looks like more chips are needed!

So after reading through this and related threads, we could summarize (to date) as follows:

Basically promising, reputation intact, but full list of hard facts missing (videos, pictures of units, shipping dates, pricing, ...)
- LTCFPGA ltcfpga.com
- Alpha Technology
- CryptoIndustries
- ltcgear.com

SCAM, BS or whatever you want to call it
- Scrypt ASIC International
- ONIX AC/Payonix

Alpha-stage development, currently pure marketing
- Open Source Litecoin FPGA Miner
- Sluicebit.com

Alpha-stage development, currently pure marketing
- Open Source Litecoin FPGA Miner

I would take slight objection to that. Its more beta-stage than alpha-stage, and as its totally free any marketing is simply to get out the word that it exists. Anyway, current status is:

Lancelot: 33kHash/sec but you'll need a Xilinx download cable to try it.
Ztex: definitely alpha-stage, but I'm working on it right now (I didn't have a board to test on until a few days back).
Other development platforms: Its up to you to roll your own. The source code is freely available, come and join the development community.

Best Regards
Mark

Thanks Mark, been hoping for that kind of objections  ;)

Beta-stage well noted, ... but still quite far away for the average end user, right ...

You're coding work is highly appreciated

No problem. I have been busy on other things lately, and I'll be the first to admit that my code is not the most efficient (beekeeper is getting roughly double the hash rate for a similar sized device, albeit Altera rather than Xilinx).

I hope to get an initial ztex build done in the next couple of days (the biggest hurdle is doing the mods to cgminer to support scrypt on the ztex driver), but don't expect more than 66kHash/sec (possibly less in the initial builds).
