New to Litecoin here!

Is it possible to mine litecoins with your computer? or you need to buy a miner? and if a miner,how do i buy it and configure it for use?

Well technically you can mine with your CPU and/or GPU, but you certainly won't make a profit and it would take ages for you to get anything. ASIC miners are equally unprofitable unless you have free or extremely cheap electricity. You can use your GPU(s) to mine a few coins out right now, the most profitable being ETH. You could then sell the ETH for litecoin, but I frankly don't see why you would since ETH is gaining in value rapidly and has already past LTC. ETH: 0.00818066 LTC: 0.00807402

General conclusion among most is mining is no longer profitable for individuals mining from home.  Bummer for all of us.
