Well Friday at the latest /evil.

Its not like its a massive secret what I am working on at the moment. The devs do their end, I do the funding and management.

There is however, a worthy project that everyone should look into while we are waiting.

http://devtome.com You can get paid to write articles (in devcoins) for your work.

And from now until May 31st. I will be giving away THIS item to the user with the most valid articles (no copypasta or cheating found in any way) and generated shares via writing articles. And as an added bonus, I will include 1 accessory for the prize of your choosing from the same site. So get to writing!

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34586.0 - Devcoin thread on bitcointalk.org - you can ask questions here if something confuses you.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=129563.0 DVC Windows wallet.

https://www.devda.ch/ DVC Web wallet

After the 31st, I will contact unthinkingbit and ask him to notify me of the person with the most earned shares for valid articles. Then i will order your Prize + 1 accessory for the item of your choosing. And have it shipped directly to you. If you are outside the USA dont worry. I will receive it then reship it to you. Free shipping. I will cover it all. Also, please reply here to show you will be participating so I know who to keep an eye on :) I dont want to go back on the 31st and read all your threads at once to make sure they are legit. So last requirement is a simple registration on this forum.

A second drawing, you can do the same on here, add it to your sig. Here are the rules and such in the next few posts from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34586.msg1991035#msg1991035

Well I look forward to this "juicy" information on Thursday.

Really sounds like LTC needs a custom designed and made FPGA to work. Current FGPAs won't work which is kinda the point- LTC was meant to be FPGA and ASIC resistant.

*IF* you designed an FPGA on a small enough process size with a high band width multi channel memory controller would you be able to use off die memory and get decent hashing? Add your own high frequency PC memory and tune away?

That would be good for not only lite coin but super computing.
You can get 2400mhz 4G DDR3 modules for around $50 each, but that is half the freq of the DDR5 in the 7950 and 7970. So hopefully you are right-its more about band width than ram freq.

Would be good if there was a multi LTC FPGA system with DDR3 modules that ran high hash/$ and ran off a 1000-1500W PC PSU. Hell even if it were powerful enough put a LGA socket on it so you could put in an i3 processor and network controller and some IOs so it doesn't need a host. Nothing worse than an error in your host and loosing a lot of hashing power/time from all your miners. A good powerful miner could/should be stand alone.
Rack mountable anyone??

Count me in.  And I guess I have to go check out Devcoin.  No idea what that's all about.

Looks very promising. I have one question though. Let's say a new scrypt based coin comes into play. Can the LTC FPGA mine this new coin with ease or do we have to redevelop a specific set of rules and code for it to run.

Should work on any scrypt based coin like feathercoin, chinacoin, etc.

When we purchase the shares...are we going to purchase a number of hashes that we control? I want to mine feather coin with it as it is more profitable at the moment
