As long as you have an E: drive, the disk is not full and you have permissions to edit the contents of that folder it should be okay.  Go to the folder E:\LitecoinData\ and delete the blocks folder.  Run the wallet gui again.

Thanks for the help unfortunately no matter what drive i try it does the same.. I tried to reinstall the litecoin wallet thru the exe and just let it install with the default options. It starts to sync and then the  failure happens again(although this time it went for about an hour approx 17 k blocks processed). Then when i reload the wallet it immediately errors outs. Not sure what else i can try aside from putting this on a linux box and trying.. Sure seems windows users having a bit of issue with this release. Im using electrum now but would rather use the original wallet if possible.

Best regards
d57heinz

edit   I downloaded bitcoin core ver 11.. just to see if anything has changed with the code.. Last btc core i ran on pc was ver .9 something.  Since the litecoin core is based of ver 10 with the bip rules i thought maybe something happened there.. But no dice the bitcoin core downloads and is syncing with no problems.. I will make an attempt to compile this wallet from source on windows.  Im very knowledgeable on how its done on linux but windows compile im unfamiliar with.. Ill post back if i can get it done.  If it fixes the issue maybe its the exe thats giving us some issue..  Thanks again

Latest release for Mac OS has a bug with the notification banner....it shows the BTC Icon instead of the LTC. Not a huge deal but whenever I have incoming LTC its annoying to see the BTC symbol :p

EDIT  the only thing i  did do from standard install is i changed the data dirrectory.. Could that be the issue?

This particular issue is usually caused by a variety of variables, for example a user had this problem and it turned out they had a faulty memory module:

Possible hardware causes:
a) Bad sectors on hard drive, check the SMART status of the disks or you can try running chkdsk on the drive the Litecoin block data folder lives on.
b) Faulty HDD controller (if your HDD setup involves a RAID configuration)
c) Faulty memory stick, you could try running memtest to see if you have any bad memory.

Possible software causes:
a) Anti-Virus software preventing Litecoin-Core from writing to disk. You'll need to set the Litecoin data folder as a scanning exclusion.
b) Backup application locking the files.
c) Some other application like 7zip locking the block database files being written to.
d) Permissions aren't correct for Litecoin data folder (no read/write access).

We are working on 0.11 which does improve the handling of accepting blocks. Our 0.10 version is based off Bitcoin's 0.10 version.

hi all,

I'm hoping I can get some help.

Someone very kindly set me up a litecoin stratum pool on a custom built server.

We have a bitcoin and litecoin pool setup on the same server.

The Bitcoin runs just fine as does the litecoin. But I can't point any miners to the litecoin pool.

I have 4 mat excaliburs a gridseed and none of them connect to the pool. I've tried pointing a rented miner to the pool and that wouldn't connect.

The server is setup on a Ubuntu system.

If you know anyone who could help that would be great

Thank you ever so much

Jamie

have you setup firewall rules in your router? Sounds like it's a firewall issue. You need to allow thru your internet router and the local router aswell.  If your mining locally only though you should only have to allow the wallets to get out.  Make sure they have over 8 connections or you could have orphan issues.  Lookup litecoin super nodes aswell as btc. And add them to your conf.  Point your miner to the local up of the machine.  Ie 192.168.1.10:3333. Or try stratum+tcp://192.168.1.10:3333. Hope that helps ya a bit:).  Try asking in the mining section on forum aswell:)

This is not connected to Litecoin Core client.
Please create topic in a different place and give more details.
I suspect you are using p2pool as pool, and cgminer as mining software. If so, please search for topic with "p2pool 14", then you should find a solution.
If not, please still create new topic and write exactly what do you have.

btcbitter would you mind trying to run the installation file in administrator mode?

Just right-click on the setup file, and the select 'run as Administrator'. It should work then...

Maybe try moving it to your home directory - so in Users/yourname/

And then try opening it as admin.
