There is no problem with that.
Look deeper:

Quote
litecoin-qt: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=3e90210ebd670488016354b41ae437237daf9ad7, stripped

Just make sure it has proper permissions (chmod 755 litecoin-qt) and you can run that from commandline, or create desktop shortcut.

here's what a friend of mine told me:

the old file is identified as:
litecoin-qt: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, BuildID[sha1]=0f77dc700c7fb9d2f9745fc0829fca59a1fdc0d7, not stripped

the new one as:
litecoin-qt: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.24, BuildID[sha1]=3e90210ebd670488016354b41ae437237daf9ad7, stripped

so before on the graphic interface was recognized as executable, now as type unknown.

has this been done on purpose?

Explained here:

https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/issues/3847

EDIT: more info here:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=737849

I got it working... the /bin/64 didn't exist...

but when i was in the /bin  and typed ./litecoin-qt   it worked

this is a totally complicated thing... my mom will never be able to do this!!!!

Hi all! Today I upgraded to Litecoin Core v0.10.2.2, didn't know I was supposed to do it before 7/7.

Wallet looks like normal, now slowly syncing (hadn't used it for a while). BUT - here's the odd stuff: my various other crypto apps are all showing a nice fresh June 2015 date. Litecoin Qt 'Date Modified' is now set to 1 June 2013. I mean, wft?! Also, when I try and alter this file in any way (I tried to reinstall latest version to make sure),  or even so much as to try give it a tag in the Apps folder, it asks me for my computer password.  It didn't used to to this and none of my other crypto apps do this and I don't like it.

Does this mean I have a compromised file or is this just normal?

For the syncing, it will start slowly at the beginning whilst its obtaining the block headers and then will start downloading the blocks rapidly. As for the date modified, the Gitian builder timestamp we have is 1 June 2013 however in the next version this will be bumped up to a more recent time. Your version isn't compromised and is safe to use.

What operating system are you running and was it compiled by source or downloaded from litecoin.org? Does this occur every time you shutdown the application? Usually this is caused by a corrupt leveldb database. Adding -reindex to your clients launch parameters should resolve this.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
Downloaded from litecoin.org
Error occurs on exit, every time.

Sorry, I'm not sure I know how to add -reindex to my clients launch parameters. Could you point me in the direction of more info?

Many thanks for the swift and knowledgeable help.

How do you launch the client? If you have a shortcut on Desktop or anywhere, please edit its properties, and add -reindex at the end of command to launch.
It's also possible to launch a console (Start->run-> cmd.exe) :
- navigate to app dir and launch .exe with -reindex option

I did a reindexing (which took a while), but once it was done and I exited, I got the same error message.
