Thanks for bringing this story to light Mage, but reading the link has me so pissed off....
The reality (unfortunately) is stuff like this goes on everyday.
The system is definitely broken in this regards.
I would like to see such gross misjudgements never happen, BUT if they did, there should be a "catch".
If a judge makes a sentance like this, and the criminal violates the law again in the future, BOTH the judge and the original criminal have to split the sentance.
After all, the judge is somewhat responsible for the future crime.
Since some people in the judicial system sleep very well at night being bribed, lets see how well they sleep in a concrete cell next to their scumbag rich friend and their new inmate friends.
Im sure it would make for a nice little reunion with all the other inmates of which im sure these types of judges actually provided "justice" to <sarcasim>
If your in prison for a crime against a child, you are the worst of the worst.
If Donald Sterling can lose his basketball team for saying racist things on an illegal tape recording in his own living room, then this Du Pont asshole should lose every dime of his trust.
The only paint he should have now, is the Kool Aid on his lips, in his new prison cell.
