Hi DP007,

I was just reading your questions. Let me please answer them for you.

1. If this is legit and not a SCAM.
Why MAT does NOT accept either Paypal or credit card payments? Why not like Alfa Tech, Zeus, and other Script miners?

MC: Paypal does not accept payments for deliveries that far in the future. Credit Card payments, for cost reasons for the buyer, we decided in the first place not to offer this. If the community is willing to use this payment with additional costs, we will rethink this offering.

2. Another fishy discloser on their listing shows as following:
"Deposit Only: 35% is due today. The rest will be billed later."
What's the meaning of billed later? Is it at the time of delivery (like Alfa Tech) or anytime they want the rest of the payment?

MC: 3 months before delivery the total amount is due. You get informed by our Office Management.

3. Here is another one from their FAQ section: Can I have a copy of your terms of Sale?
Answer: Our terms of sale are available at the following link and must be agreed to before the sale is final.
www.mining-asics-technologies.com/termsofsale
RESULT: 404 Not Found  >:(

MC: Thank you for finding this dead link. Our webmaster is updating this link so you will be able to download/read the Terms.
Sorry for this!

OVERALL IT SMELLS FISHY.

Hoping to see if MAT considers accepting Paypal or credit card payments and comment on above concerns. If it's about Paypal or CC fees, as I buyer I would not mind paying the extra fees for Paypal or CC fees.

MC: As the last Point I see a lot of comments about our existing cooperation with Dream Chip Technologies. Due to a NDA they have signed with us a long time ago, you will get no Information from them, even if you call their Offices.
Due to the fact that we have discussed this internally, we have decided that Dream Chip is being granted to publish a small note on their Website stating our cooperation. You will see this somewhere this week on their Website.
I can share the text already with you. Please apologize me, if there are minor changes in the published text later this week on their website. The Publishing is not our responsibility.

Statement Dream Chip:

Hope this clarifies a lot!

A payment up front of over 50% of the purchasing price on any physical product is not allowed under the Dutch Civil Code (7:26:2) unless explicitly negotiated with the individual customer. MAT, being a Dutch company, would have to abide.

The 35% deposit and 65% up front 3 months before delivery qualifies as a 100% up front payment. Mentioning this in MAT's TOS, on MAT's website or on MAT's office window in whatever size letters wouldn't be enough.

In other words, the standard ASIC pre-order model is likely not legal in the Netherlands. This is something MAT should address. Because as it stands today anyone who makes a deposit now could force MAT to deliver the order after only doing the first 35% up front payment. The remaining 65% would then only have to be paid after delivery of the product.

Dutch consumer law tends to heavily favor the consumer. I think MAT should consult with a legal specialist on what I just mentioned (there's probably other peculiarities as well that deserve attention).

I'm trying to be nice here (for a change :) and just point this out. Because if you were to ignore details like this it will probably mean a whole lot of headache for both MAT and its customers.

Hello. Just to keep you informed.
I make the 35% deposit for the Excalibur 1 via bank transfer last Friday. Today the bank transfer appears as confirmed. It seems they are working rapidly.

Hi.
How much of initial deposit via bank transfer will be returned in case of failure to pay the remaining cost of 65% for the device/-s?

Thanks.

Well of course they are going to work rapidly when they are receiving money!  They have to get that money and transfer it to cash or another account so you can't charge it back or get a refund!  Let's see how fast they deliver the product now.  A bit slower would be my educated guess....... ::)

Why would you buy something that is going to come out in September when Fibbonacci is coming out in July and has better prices ?

Just saying. they have revised the hash rates of their units, The website does not refelct it yet but you can see the cost in the fibonnaci thread on the OP

Becouse I sent the preorder money before the hash power increase from Alpha-t or Fibbonacci, also before the KnC  news about their scrypt asic. Now I'm with MAT.
I've also speak to Marc on facebook about this hash power increase. All MAT scrypt asic miners get a 25% hash power increase for the same money. The new models, with the increased power hash are now listed on the website.

New price is enticing indeed. I may be blind... but i have not seen the power consumption stats for the Excaliburs. Have i missed it?

Edit: Sorry. I found energy usage info on this link: https://coinplorer.com/Hardware
