Heh I live a couple of hundred metres from this address and I can see the building from my window.

It seems to be a nice place for an office (only 500 metres away from Starbucks):

http://www.fundainbusiness.nl/kantoor/maastricht/object-47401682-stationsplein-8-k/fotos/#foto-4

(still vacant according to the website)

They did register with the Dutch chamber of commerce:

http://www.kvk.nl/orderstraat/product-kiezen/?kvknummer=600044870000

Rent for the office: 750 euro (plus probably 2 months ahead) = 2250
Chamber of commerce registration: ~350 euros
Website: ~100 euros

So as it stands, mr. Coumans will ROI with just 2 pre-orders.

I'll give them a call tomorrow

I guess everyones go there pre-orders flowing now. Sounds awesome if it can be delivered website seems a little cheezy for a company selling high end miners. Like all other newcomers we have to ask how do we know this will be delivered on time and what experiance do you have building miners?

To me this looks like a scam until proven otherwise. As said I'm going to call them tomorrow, and I'll also try and figure out whether they paid the rent on the office. I could pull this press release off with my meager web building skills, 500 euros, a vacant office listing and some guts. As said. 2 pre orders would already make it worth it.

Ok so I made the call I promised:

I called the number mentioned on the website: the 'sales department' and was answered by a standard issue telephone lady. I told her I was potentially interested in the product but that I wanted to know a bit more since I'm not easily impressed by numbers. She said she'd put me through to a colleague (pressed HOLD) and after 20 seconds of standard issue music (pressed HOLD again)  I got the already looming answer: the colleague was currently on the phone and would ring me back ASAP. He did not.

I then rang Dream Chip (the mentioned German Partner) and got another lady. I told her I read a press release mentioning them and asked whether they could confirm the alleged partnership. She put me on hold, conferred with someone, and then asked me if I could email them a link to the press release I mentioned. She also told me they'd reply to me by email. Which they haven't done (yet).

I saved myself the trouble of dropping by at the address mentioned. Its an office tower that rents out cheap office space to whoever might need one. It might contain a lady and a colleague, it might contain a telephone that's put through to somewhere else. For now:

FUNK-O-METER: clearly in the red, I wouldn't send my money here

SCAM-O-TRON 4000: readings inconclusive (depends on if I get a reply from Dream Chip)

Conclusion: Guilty until proven innocent!

Ha, got a call back from MAT. Followed by a standard SMS: They'll call again tomorrow. Country code 00971 for a company supposedly Dutch:

+971 : United Arab Emirates

SCAM-O-TRON 4000 got the little upper left red light blinking!

THanks for doing your due diligence on this company to many scams going on out there right now and we need to try and protect members from falling victim to scammers. I hope they are legit but my motto is Trust but Verify

Trust but Verify goes for everyday life. I mostly just trust (without verifying) in every day life. This is a different ball-game though. Only professionals got the skills to lie in everyday life. But you don't need skills to lie in a virtual environment.

@madnod, I really wouldn't know how to trace a phone number in the UAE. It's most likely another phony company with a PBX in the UAE. Problem here is that there is nothing to trace since there's no company in the first place.

I'd be more than happy to pull the company records from the dutch chamber of commerce. So I get a name and residence for this bastard at least. The Dutch chamber of commerce is a private company however, and they charge people for pulling company records (fucked up I know). Plus you need to be a registered company in order to obtain the info. I can get the info for 3,50 EUR, I'd need a sixpack of beer to convince my brother to let me use his login credentials. Total cost: 7 EUR.

But I'm not spending a single dime on him myself. My time is for free.
